Monchique, Portimão, Silves, Loulé, Tavira and São Brás de Alportel, in the district of Faro, are the municipalities that present the maximum danger of rural fire, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

Fifteen municipalities in the districts of Faro, Santarém, Beja, Castelo Branco and Portalegre present a very high risk.

With the exception of the northern coastal region of mainland Portugal, all other municipalities are at between moderate and high danger.

For Monday, the IPMA predicts an increase in the danger of fire.
