In 2025, the average turnover change in the domestic market was 2.1%, compared with a negative 2.3% the previous year.

Foreign market

Sales to the foreign market contracted by 2.7%, whereas in 2024 they increased by 0.8%.

Employment and wages recorded average annual variations of -0.3% and 5.1% in 2025, compared to 0.0% and 7.2% in 2024.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, industry sales increased by 0.6% year-on-year, a slowdown of 0.5 percentage points (p.p.) from the previous quarter.

Domestic market

Sales in the industry for the domestic market increased by 2.7% in the same period of 2025, compared with 2.1% in the previous quarter.

In December, the industry turnover index showed year-on-year growth of 2.0%, reversing the 1.3% decline observed the previous month.

Excluding the Energy group, turnover increased by 3.4% (0.9% in November), and the indices for the domestic and foreign markets recorded variations of 1.9% and 2.3% (2.4% and -7.4% in the previous month).

Employment and wages recorded year-on-year changes of -0.2% and 4.4% in December, and in 2025, the average rates of change in employment and wages stood at -0.3% and 5.1%.
