The National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP) has said no to postponing local elections. The association today said that the next municipal elections should be held between September 22 and October 14, as provided for by Electoral Law. In comments the association’s chairman of the board of directors reasoned that “democracy cannot be constrained by the pandemic”, and said it refutes "some legislative projects” that aim to introduce changes to local election framework.
