This morning there are no active flames but the authorities
fear that high winds could trigger re-ignitions.

The fire is being classed as on going and there are still
363 personnel on the ground, assisted by 124 vehicles and two air assets.
The fire started in Gambelas, near the University of Algarve
on Tuesday and progressed to Almancil, Quarteira and Quinta do Lago, - forcing
preventative evacuations.
An equestrian centre also had to be evacuated and all
animals were safely removed.
