Fish and dairy products were the categories that most increased in price in the last week, with rises of 22.23% and 21.24%, respectively. The remaining categories also became more expensive, including meat (20.62%), frozen (19.92%), groceries (16.33%) and fruits and vegetables (14.68%).

From the day before the start of the war in Ukraine, on February 23, until the end of November, the food basket increased by 19.39%: that's another 35.59 euros on a supermarket bill.

Inflation on food reflects the increase in prices, with a variation of 18.4% in November compared to the same month of 2021 for unprocessed articles and 16.8% for processed goods, according to data from the INE.
